We’re looking for a customer-driven individual who is personable, friendly, sales-oriented, and willing to learn on the job. As a Counter Sales representative, you are the first face customers see as they walk through our doors and the first person they’ll ask for assistance. We think of our customers as part of our team and strive to provide them with the advice and support they need to make their visions for their projects a reality.
Full-time and part-time positions are available. Shifts will be scheduled in accordance with store hours: M-F, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
You understand that doing things the right way isn’t always the easy way, and you’re not afraid of hard work. The lumber and building world interests you, and you enjoy hearing about customer projects and sharing knowledge with them to provide support. You’re upbeat, friendly and outgoing, and are at your best when you’re helping others. You are always eager to learn new things.
- Greet customers as they walk through the door
- Assist customers with questions and provide recommendations
- Write sales orders quickly and efficiently
- Work in an organized and detail-oriented manner
- Process various types of payments
- Count out the cash drawer
- Open and close the store
- Answer phones calls
Candidates for this position must be resourceful, willing to learn, and interested in lumber, building and construction. Previous experience in lumber, construction, hardware or retail is a plus, but is not required. Our industry is constantly changing, so what’s more important to us is a willingness and ability to learn. Computer skills are important. Must be proficient in a Windows environment. Spanish speaker is preferred but not required
